With quarantine growing seemingly more restrictive by the minute, people all over are being forced into drumming up creative ways to combat it. While there are currently some interesting strategies out there, the Lucky Devil Lounge in Portland, Oregon might be onto something big.
Worried about the financial strain his staff is facing, Lucky Devil owner Shon Boulden took to social media and announced that the club’s dancers would be taking up food delivery. It went over well. Like, really well.
“I originally did it at first as a joke, and it got 150 shares on Facebook—like nothing we’ve ever had before. So I was like, ‘Well shit, why don’t we just try to do this?’”
Dubbing the service ‘Boober Eats,’ Boulden is offering the establishment’s full menu, along with non-alcoholic drinks such as ginger beer and Reb Bull. Their model is similar to most home delivery systems, except that you’ll have two people deliver food to your door instead of one. And they’re strippers. Also, they’re mostly nude. And will pose to take a photo with you.
“They’ll wear pasties and booty shorts, drop off the food, dance for a second and then we’ll move along. We’ll still stay a reasonable distance back. They have Lysol as well.”
Boulden’s creative idea not only helps Lucky Devil Lounge’s dancers, but also the security guards who work with them — as they accompany them on every delivery. While the service is brand new, it seems to be a hit.
“We’re getting orders right now from Vancouver to Tigard. It’s pretty crazy. We’ve got a whole team of people ready to deliver food and some cheer.”
Here’s to hoping this trend catches on!
