Nebraska: The Lucky 15
On the night of March 1, 1950, 15 members of the West Side Baptist Church of Beatrice, Nebraska were supposed to meet at the church for choir practice at 7:20 in the evening. The choir members were known to be always on time, but on the Wednesday night when the explosion occurred caused by a natural gas leak, every member of the choir was late that night. The story of what happened that night was so amazing that the LIFE magazine featured it in their next issue. All across the country, people were asking themselves, why was choir late? Was it luck? Or was god watching out for these people? You be the judge.
